Clarkson College has not always been a college. Instead, we began in 1888 as a school of nursing—the first in the state of Nebraska. Over the last 125 years, we've established a new campus, expanded our program offerings and adopted a new name. Alumni

Clarkson College provides a variety of professional learning opportunities and health care courses. Our Basic Life Support, Medication and Nurse Aide courses can help individuals getting certified for the first time or needing renewal. These programs are either online or on campus with ongoing offerings year-round.

Professional Development

To stay ahead of the growing educational demands placed on the health care workforce, Clarkson College offers registered nurses with an Associate degree the opportunity to earn their Bachelor’s degree through this award-winning online program option. The Registered Nurse (RN) to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program option builds upon your skills as an RN, prepares you for the growing demands of the nursing field and ensures a long-term career. Through the RN to BSN Nursing Workforce Sponsorship Program, you will have the opportunity to earn your Bachelor’s degree part- or full-time and have four-year job placement at Nebraska Medicine during and following completion of the program. Application Overview

Eligibility: Applicants to the RN to BSN Nursing Workforce Sponsorship Program must meet the following.

Currently hold an Associate in Nursing Degree
Have an active Registered Nurse license in the State of Nebraska
Successfully enroll and be accepted into the Clarkson College RN to BSN program option
Be eligible to work in the United States
Be eligible for hire through Nebraska Medicine (current Nebraska Medicine employees are eligible*)

Sponsorship Recipients: Selection of recipients is made by the partnering hospital and comprised of individuals appointed by that institution. In no instance does any employee of Clarkson College play a part in the selection.

All applicants agree to accept the decision as final. Recipients have the following obligations.  

Must complete an interview with Nebraska Medicine and adhere to all hiring practices
Sign a letter of commitment to work for Nebraska Medicine for four (4) years (two years as a full-time ASN/RN Staff Nurse while completing the program and two years as a full-time BSN/RN Staff Nurse upon graduation).
Maintain a status of “Good Standing” while enrolled in the RN to BSN program.
Maintain a status of “Good Standing” while serving in your role as a Staff Nurse with Nebraska Medicine.
